I hold a Dutch passport and have lived in the south of England since 1976, here in Tunbridge Wells for 23 years. My husband and son are both British citizens. Having been part of the local community for so long, and made my life in this country, I was shocked that I was not able to vote in a referendum that has such major implications for me and my family. But I was delighted that Tunbridge Wells stood out as a remain-voting area in a part of the country that otherwise mainly voted leave. We need to build on that locally and try to turn the tide: it is still not too late!
